The 2013 Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emmys were last night, Sunday September 22nd, and they were full with so many talented actors and actresses! We were glued to the TV watching all of the awards being announced, but of course, first and foremost is the red carpet for us Roo Girls!
There were so many stunning gowns on this year's red carpet that our verdict is still out on which were our favorites. But, there was one trend that we noticed the celebrities wearing that we're already obsessing over: elegant gowns in electric blue and royal purple! So many of the ladies wore solid colored gowns in one of these bold colors. With the first day of Fall having landed yesterday, everyone must be getting in the mood for darker Fall and Winter colors! Bright Blue
Actress and comedian Allison Williams wore a bold, bright blue gown that was just so elegant. The simplicity of the gown let the color speak for itself. We especially loved how the color of the dress matched her eyes so perfectly, making them stand out even more than normal!
Actress and comedian Tina Fey also wore a bright blue gown - it must be a comedy thing! Her gown was a mermaid style that hugged her curves so perfectly.

Royal Purple
Purple is the color of royalty, and the celebs who rocked the color on the Emmys Red Carpet certainly proved that last night! Actress and comedian Melissa Rauch wore a fun and funky dress in the purple hue at the 2013 Emmys. It was a fitted gown that had a slight peplum to it, which gave her a perfectly slimming look.
Another actress and comedian that showed us what dark purple is all about is Alyson Hannigan! She wore a mermaid style dress, paired with a jeweled purse, to have a beautifully regal look.
Singer Carrie Underwood's purple gown was the most regal of all! She wore a simple strapless gown that let the color speak for itself.
