Dating is hard. Putting aside nerves, wondering what he thinks, and figuring out what you should/should not say all cause enough stress. But deciding what to wear on a date can be just as difficult, if not more difficult, than having a great date altogether. An outfit can make or break the entire direction of the rendezvous. And while it’s true that what you wear is your first chance to make a great impression, that's not the main reason the outfit can make or break the date. What you wear and how you feel about your appearance are what can greatly affect the encounter. After all, when you’re comfortable and confident, your personality will have it’s time to shine. Selena Gomez once again has shown off her incredible fashion prowess, donning more gorgeous gowns in the past 72 hours than many of us will get to wear in a lifetime.  Gomez, who turns 22 tomorrow (July 22), spent the weekend attending the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest in Italy this past weekend and definitely did so in style.

Gomez kicked things off by attending the premiere of her new film Rudderless wearing a sheer polka-dot maxi dress with oversized pockets by Emanuel Ungaro.  The look proved to pull off the difficult feat of being both sexy while fun at the same time.  A pair of black Casadei pumps completed the ensemble.

At a press conference the following day, the former Disney star went the risque route sporting a white bra under a sheer lace and feathered garb.  Once again, Casadei pumps finished off her look, this time in white.

For a black-tie gala dinner, Gomez adorned the Pièce de résistance, a plunging neckline Kayat gown encrusted in gorgeous rhinestones and accompanied by a revealing thigh-high slit.  For footwear, you guessed it, black Casadei pumps.

While walking the streets of Ischia, Gomez rocked a summery frock by Zimmerman, a Mustard Midi dress with a vibrant confetti print and white embroidery at the hemline.  Oh yeah, the sandals, they're Casadei.

You can go from Willy Wonka to Candyland! These playful dresses will go great with this whimsical theme. The pastel colors resemble candy colors and the sparkle gives it a fun and girly look!

Mardi Gras Madness Theme:

Whether or not your birthday falls near the actual New Orleans's Mardi Gras, it is the perfect Sweet 16 theme for anyone who wants a magnificent carnival style to celebrate their special day. The gown we picked in our Polyvore set is so Mardi Gras appropriate; the multicolored jewels around the bodice has the right festive colors and the feathery skirt pairs up perfectly with the most important accessory...the mask of course!

1. Alyce 6095 - A strapless black tulle and feather mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline and a multicolored jeweled corset bodice.

Hollywood Theme:

Lights! Camera! Action! Roll out the red carpet and pose for the paparazzi! This one is probably the most glamorous one of them all. Guests will feel like they are going to a movie premiere and you of course will be the star. The amazing gowns below are so Oscar worthy! The intricate beading and silhouette exudes elegance. Angelina Jolie will have nothing on you!

The fringe dress has been a very popular style lately. White Dress

White formal dresses are always stand-out pieces at any event. For Halloween, just add wings and you can be a beautiful angel! One of our favorite white dresses is the Mac Duggal style 6383N, which has a beautiful  fully sequined top and layered ruffles of chiffon on the skirt. The Sizzle by Coloriffics Inez high heals are a great way to add some extra glitter to the outfit!

Red Dress

Pink Dress

Pink is always a cute color to go with in a formal dress, especially if you love the classic princess look. And, all of us girls love feeling like princesses when we dress up, right? The 2010 American Music Awards are officially a wrap.  Now it's time to look back on the red carpet fashions and decide on the night's best dressed!  Who took risks? Who played it safe? And who outshined the rest on this year's AMA red carpet?

Miley Cyrus, prepping for her November 23rd 18th birthday, wore a stunning strapless Marchesa.  Made of chiffon, it was adorable up front and featured a dramatic train in the back. The dress was paired with Christian Louboutin's crystal embellished Maralena pumps, along with impeccable hair and make up.
