Summer has just begun, but we must look forward to the upcoming seasons in order to make our wardrobe work overtime. In your closet, you may already have some easy dresses for every season that you've overlooked. Like that favorite summer dress you just can’t live without? If you could wear it all year long you would, right? With a bit of creative styling, you can! Layer and combine texture and pattern in an artful way to extend the life of your most cherished pieces.
The key to carrying over lightweight dresses into the colder months is to keep things simple. This can also work with heavily beaded dresses or cut-out dresses. To have the greatest success, a short body hugging dress works best as a base for your cooler weather accessories. Keep casual cocktail dresses, either in prints or in solid colors, in mind for this application. Easy dresses cut in simple forms and light fabrics make versatile additions to your closet.
Mixing it Up With Some Hot New Styles
Sherri Hill 50146 Strapless Floral Print Cocktail Dress
Sherri Hill 50146 is a great example to illustrate how to pull this off. A bold graphic floral print doesn’t have to be confined to summer or spring. Since this dress has a strapless sweetheart bodice, it would go well with a solid color cardigan, solid knit stockings, and a pair of biker boots that hit just below the calf. This gives off a look that says sweet but edgy. Playing with contrasting textures is a great way to emphasize the best of each piece. The satin-like finish on the dress against a knit fabric can look sumptuous and rich. Depending on the color cardigan you chose, you can pop one color out of the floral pattern. A pale pink or a bold fuchsia makes for an interesting statement. Putting leather boots with this look makes it feel like fall, but keep them simple. The main focus is the pattern design on the dress. Neutral earth tones go well with this look. Deep blues or slate grays are colors that could pair well with this cocktail dress. Continue reading →

In case you missed it, dress designer Faviana was recently on HLN's Weekend Express Morning Show, where they discussed their red carpet trend report from the 2016 Oscars and how these trends inspire prom and social occasions. What are the biggest trends for Prom 2016? HLN and Devin Vandermaas, who is the Director of Marketing at Faviana, discuss all that and more on the special! You can view the video on HLN's website by clicking here or clicking the photo below.
Fashion house Faviana's Devin explains that a lot of sophisticated styles are popular for this year's prom season, including trends like plunging necklines, dark shaded sequins, cut-outs, and two pieces.

We all know that Taylor Swift was the artist of the night at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards for more reasons that one (she won many awards!). But, the event everyone is still talking about days after the Billboard Music Awards ended is Tay finally releasing hew newest music video: Bad Blood!
The music video is ah-maz-ing... to put it lightly. It's full of action, great music (duh!), stunning outfits, and endless stars! There are too many celebrities in the video to name them all, but some of our favorites included Hayley Williams of Paramore, Jessica Alba, Karlie Kloss, Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, and Cara Delevingne. Phew... and that was only six of the celebs that made an appearance in the video! Tay has so many friends! Check out the video, and see if you can name all of the stars. Plus, if you love the stunning fashion throughout the video, read on because we picked out our favorite ways to take a cue from the Taylor Swift Bad Blood video at your next formal or semi formal event.
The very first outfit Tay shows off in this video is a stunning two tone nude and black corset and mini skirt outfit. Could the video start out any better from a fashion standpoint?! To get a similar look to Taylor's nude/black from the beginning of "Bad Blood," go with Faviana 7428. It's a short cocktail dress that features a multi layer chiffon skirt and a structured lace bodice. It comes in Black/Nude, just like Tay's outfit!
The video starts out with an outfit that's more feminine, like we know Tay's outfits to be in real life, but it then quickly turns to all the girls wearing sleek, sexy, ninja-inspired leather outfits. What else would ninjas wear?! For a ninja-inspired look that's sleek and sexy like all of the black leather jumpsuits and rompers Tay's entourage wore in "Bad Blood," go with romper La Femme 21339. It's an elegant chiffon dress with shorts, a sweetheart neckline, and belt around the waist. Perfect for kicking some ass in style!
Black was definitely the color of choice for outfits for the Bad Blood music video, but there were two white outfits in the video that were so stunning! Tay and "Frostbye" (Lily Aldridge) wore wintery white rompers while practice fighting in the video. For a white romper look like these two ninjas, go with La Femme 21526. It's a unique dress with a sheer tulle skirt, shorts, and pockets (because ninja spies have some essentials to carry, like compact mirrors that turn into throwing stars). The bodice is a sweetheart neckline and has a thin belt around the waist.
All we have to say is that we hope the Bad Blood music video gets turned into a movie! It looks like it could be the next Charlie's Angels to us! What an all-around amazing video. We can't wait to see what Tay has in store next for her 1989 album! Oh...and we're totally loving Taylor Swift with red hair, by the way.
Yup, that's right, Miley Cyrus finally wore an outfit that's perfect for fashionistas everywhere! Rather than wearing those scantily clad outfits Miley has become known for, she showed up at the 30th Annual Night of Stars in a totally stunning sequin gown! Don't get too shocked - she still showed off some skin with the gown's open back, but all in all it was a totally glam AND chic look!
From the sparkly green dress to the red mani, Seventeen Magazine thought it was a perfect look for prom, and they couldn't be more right! Seventeen said:
"A straight but not-too-form-fitting style covered in sequins is seriously flattering, plus, the shape makes all-over sparkle feel less frilly."
The above picture that they made showed how you can get the look. And, what dress did they choose to steal Miley's style? Faviana style 6711, of course! The silver version of this dress was our Dress of the Week back in April because it was so similar to a gown that Taylor Swift wore, but now it's our Dress of the Week to get a Miley Cyrus look-alike style! It's a sequin evening gown with mesh straps and a sexy open back.
When it comes to the makeup, Seventeen said:
"To make green eyeshadow like Miley's wearable, pick a pale seafoam shadow, and stick to black liquid liner and mascara so the look stays glam. Keep the rest of your makeup neutral with a pale peachy blush and a nude lipgloss. Don't forget your bright red nail polish!"

Halloween may be over, but there's so many costumes that we're still obsessing over! The costume that former Miss USA Rachel Smith wore on Good Morning America's Halloween special is definitely one that we cannot forget. Why? Because she wore a Faviana dress!
The Miss USA 2007 beauty queen wore Faviana style S7150 to dress as Giuliana Rancic, the E! News co-anchor, for the GMA Halloween Special. Giuliana is known for her on-point fashion sense, and the chiffon gown that Rachel wore definitely had her sparkling just like the journalist! Of course, with Rachel's own past as a beauty queen and as a co-host on the show OnTheRedCarpet, could we have really expected her to wear anything else on Halloween??
If you want to see what everyone else wore on the 2013 Good Morning America Halloween special, just click here. There were so many fun and creative costumes!

Faviana style 7119 evening gown is simple yet beautiful! The beading on the straps gives it a little touch of sparkle and the open back detail adds the right amount of sexiness. It's a great dress for any type of formal event, especially prom.
Clarisse style 2391 short formal dress couldn't be more adorable! The sequin bodice and tulle skirt is so girly, it's no wonder this dress is a best seller. This one would make a cute homecoming dress or short prom dress.
Night Moves 6820 flirty party dress has beading around the waist which creates a slimmer figure. You can definitely get great use out of this stunner! Whether it's for prom, homecoming, or even just for attending a wedding, you'll be sure to turn heads in this pink little number.
