5 Tips to Make Your Lipstick Last in the Fall & Winter!

A new season means new lipstick colors! This fall, the lipstick shade we are obsessing over is plum. According to Cosmopolitan, plum lipstick is the number one sexiest piece of fall make-up.

"Spiked with a dash of burgundy and a hit of black, plum lipstick becomes, 'sophisticated in a twisted kind of way,'" says makeup artist Tom Pecheux.

We couldn't agree more with Tom! We are definitely taking advantage of the fall weather and squeezing in all the different shades of plum lipstick that we can get our hands on! But, with winter right around the corner, don't worry because this is a shade that can be worn right through the cold weather, too.

The only thing we can't help but hate is when our lipstick wares off! Having to re-apply lipstick many times throughout the day is exhausting and wastes the product; which is why we want to share 5 tips to make your lipstick last, an article based off of Seventeen Magazine. With winter officially just around the corner and chapped lips on their way, these tips couldn't be more important.

1. Exfoliate. Scrub your lips with the rest of your face while you're in the shower in the morning. A gentle exfoliator will smooth over the flakes that come with winter's chapped lips.

2. Moisturize. With the temperatures dropping faster than you can say "pumpkin spice latté," moisturizing everything, including your lips is key. Stock up on a long-lasting chapstick to keep your pucker from getting chapped and use it before applying lipstick to help it go on smoothly.

3. Prime & Line. Use an easy-to-apply lip primer to set the stage for the bold color. Once it's absorbed, outline you lips in a liner that's the same shade of your natural lip color.

4. Add Your Color. Apply the lipstick of choice in two swipes. Blot a couple times on a tissue and repeat with another swipe of lipstick, followed by another blot. Do this until you score your desired color strength.

5. Set with Powder. You heard us, powder—on your lips. A light, translucent powder will help keep the color in place even after you enjoy a huge mug of hot chocolate!

Once you follow these short steps, you will be ready to rock your plum lipstick (or any other color lipstick) all day long!

Dress like Miley Cyrus in Faviana 6711!

Yup, that's right, Miley Cyrus finally wore an outfit that's perfect for fashionistas everywhere! Rather than wearing those scantily clad outfits Miley has become known for, she showed up at the 30th Annual Night of Stars in a totally stunning sequin gown! Don't get too shocked - she still showed off some skin with the gown's open back, but all in all it was a totally glam AND chic look!

From the sparkly green dress to the red mani, Seventeen Magazine thought it was a perfect look for prom, and they couldn't be more right! Seventeen said:

"A straight but not-too-form-fitting style covered in sequins is seriously flattering, plus, the shape makes all-over sparkle feel less frilly."

The above picture that they made showed how you can get the look. And, what dress did they choose to steal Miley's style? Faviana style 6711, of course! The silver version of this dress was our Dress of the Week back in April because it was so similar to a gown that Taylor Swift wore, but now it's our Dress of the Week to get a Miley Cyrus look-alike style! It's a sequin evening gown with mesh straps and a sexy open back.

When it comes to the makeup, Seventeen said:

"To make green eyeshadow like Miley's wearable, pick a pale seafoam shadow, and stick to black liquid liner and mascara so the look stays glam. Keep the rest of your makeup neutral with a pale peachy blush and a nude lipgloss. Don't forget your bright red nail polish!"

Payton Rae's Music Video Gone Girl is Filmed by ALYCE Paris!

Payton Rae, the 18-year-old country music star whose global fan base has generated over 13 million YouTube hits for her music and videos, is onto her next project! Gone Girl, a four-song EP of original music, is scheduled for release on December 17, and she's already released her newest song from the album: Gone Girl. It's a fun song that's definitely full of girl power - check it out:

Payton Rae is the face of ALYCE Paris, so of course our favorite part of the video was seeing the brand new ALYCE Paris dresses that she was wearing in the video! And, we especially loved that part of her video consisted of walking the ALYCE Paris runway!

In the runway scenes, she wore Claudine for ALYCE style 2311, a short dress that has a beaded bustier illusion waist bodice with large stones on the waistband and a metal fabric skirt. Definitely very rocker chick, just like Payton!

In some of the other scenes, Payton wore ALYCE Paris style 4370, a beaded tulle cocktail dress with deep V-Neck and open back. It's such a perfect look for the Holidays!

That's not all from Payton and ALYCE Paris, though! Along with the new song and EP, Payton will be going on a tour that's sponsored by ALYCE Paris, named after her new song, "Gone Girl." The tour will kick off in Chicago on Jan 20; stops in Boston, Columbus, OH, and Augusta, SC will take place, with additional cities (and further details about the tour) announced at PaytonRaeMusic.com. So, keep a look-out for when Payton will be stopping by your town!

Pixie Parties!

Have you attended a "pixie party" yet? Probably not, since it's not something you necessarily attend; it's more of a movement. Pixie haircuts are taking over our favorite Hollywood hotties and we're loving the fresh and fun hair-do!

Pixie cuts are so prominent that almost every magazine has picked out their favorite starlets that switched from long locks to pixie cuts. We've gathered up our favorites - take a look below!

Jennifer Lawrence - The Roo Crew are HUGE fans of The Hunger Games, so it's no surprise that J. Law topped our pixie list. Rumor has it thst the reason she traded in her long Katniss braid for short blonde hair is due to the damage dying constantly has caused to her locks. Either way, we think she looks gorgeous.

Shailene Woodley - We can't even begin to describe how excited we are for Shailene to star in The Fault in Our Stars - another bestselling book turned movie. She chopped all her hair off to play the role of Hazel Grace, a cancer survivor, and after the big cut she donated her hair to a nonprofit called "Children with Hairloss."

Charlize Theron - We loved Charlize as the Queen in "Snow White and the Hunstman" which is why we're not surprised that she picked a hairstyle suited for royalty.

Anne Hathaway - It is widely known that Anne chopped her long Princess-Diaries locks off for her lead role in Le Miserables. However, what most people don't know is that she is having an extremely hard time with the hair growing back. We're not upset about it because we're totally loving her pixie princess look!

Brandi Cyrus Looking Perfect in Winter White at the AMAs!

Miley Cyrus and her older half-sister Brandi Cyrus stunned all as a matching duo at the 2013 American Music Awards this past weekend, because they were both looking so sheek in white! Miley Cyrus may be the star of the past few months, and she did look so lovely in her white suit, but we're so in love with Brandi's long sleeve cocktail dress.

White has been so in this year, and people will be wearing it well into the colder months. And, Miley and Brandi definitely wore the trend perfectly! But, Brandi's look had us thinking of the Holidays, because her short number is definitely a perfect look for not only the AMAs red carpet, but for a Holiday party, too!

Jennifer Lawrence at The Hunger Games: Catching Fire NYC Premiere!

Much like the Victory Tour that takes Katniss, played by Jennifer Lawrence, and Peeta, Josh Hutcherson, through the 12 districts after their win in the deadly Hunger Games, the stars of the sequel have spent the past week traveling the world, with premiere stops in London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Paris. Now, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire stars are finally finishing up their premiere back in the U.S. The movie just premiered in Los Angeles earlier this week, and last night they were in New York City.

Since we're all about dresses at Rissy Roo's, we've of course have been paying full attention to Jennifer's looks on the red carpet. We loved her see-through gown at the L.A. premiere, but we're especially loving the cute little black dress she wore last night in NYC!

Steal Rita Ora's Style from the EMA Awards!

Who tuned into the EMA Awards this past Sunday, November 10th? We sure did! There's nothing more entertaining than music and dresses, and when the two are put together it ensures a great time!

There were many fashion do's and a few fashion don'ts! According to Perez Hilton, Rita Ora was "Blah in Black" at the 2013 EMA's.

Although Rita's dress at this year's award show was deemed "blah" and "boring", her unique and daring dress from last year's EMA awards caught our eye and had us gushing so much that we're still talking about it!

We love a good ball gown. Especially one that's red.. and LACE! Rita looked like a million bucks from head to toe and we're going to show you how to accomplish this lavish look!

Mac Duggal style 61393R is so similar to the dress Rita Ora is wearing that you shouldn't be surprised if you're accidentally mistaken for the starlet. We adore the way the nude illusion leaves room for the red lace to really pop and catch eyes!

Rita decided to go with a red lip, which we think is fabulous, but if you want to tone the look down a bit you could go for a more natural make-up approach as shown in the picture above. Finger Waves are also a MUST! Finger waves and lace give off a very vintage vibe; which is why the two go together perfectly.

Lastly, you can't forget your accessories! Try to keep the bling to a minimum because the dress makes a huge statement on it's own! We chose the Johnathan Kayne Austria - Swarovski Austrian Crystals heels, the Helen's Heart (JB-PD00339) Gold Bracelet and the Helen's Heart (E06245) Gold Crystal Stone Earrings.

With last year's outfit in mind, we're not surprised that Rita landed on the "blah" list this year. Any dress is sub-par compared to this goddess gown!
