This year is coming to an end very quickly! So many parties...so little time! You HAVE to dive into the new year looking fab, of course. We picked out our fav cocktail dresses that are so perfect for a New Year's eve party. Whether you're hitting up a nightclub or celebrating at home...you'll be sure to enter 2014 looking super glamorous!

A NYE dress is not a NYE dress without sequins or some kind of embellishment! But, sticking to the plain sequin dresses isn't always the best way to stand out, since a lot of people will be rocking the sequins on this night! It can be fun to find a dress that has the sparkly sequins, but with a little bit of a twist to it.

We especially love Jovani for this - they are always so fashion forward with their designs that we can barely keep up! Our favorite two Jovani dresses for New Year's are below - they scream NYE in a very unique way and are especially great if you're celebrating at one of the hottest nightclubs. The Holidays are here and that means it's time for lots of parties - and lots of different types of parties! The Family Holiday Dinner is one event you're bound to be attending at one time or another this Holiday season, whether it be your own family's, your boyfriend's, or even your best friend's. This can be one of the more trickier events when it comes to dressing up, though. With family members aplenty - whether it be the Aunt that's your BFF, or your boyfriend's grandparents that you've never met before - it's important to make the right impression. Even though the holidays are usually a time for glitz and glam, this may be one holiday event where it's best to tone it down a notch; there will be plenty of time to show off that cute short sequin dress on New Year's Eve!

No matter what holiday you're celebrating, the general rules should hold constant: keep the fashionable side of you showing through with a cute dress, but stick to one that's more simple and toned down. Black is usually a good color choice for a simple look, but don't be afraid to show some festivity with a red, green, or blue colored dress. It's also always good to bring a blazer or cardigan to wear over the dress to cover your shoulders, especially if you choose a strapless dress.

Even though the December issue is out now, we're still stuck on Taylor's looks; we loved her curly, golden locks and bold, red lips so much, and of course, the outfits were stunning, too!

Because we have been seeing celebrity after celebrity rocking this dress over the past few weeks, we had to give a special spotlight to Jovani 7757, a short sheer cocktail dress.

Recently, Paris Hilton and Joanna Krupa have been seen rocking the sexy number a few different times. Paris was seen wearing it in Las Vegas while out with River Viipperiin, and was also seen matching Courtney Orynich, Operation Smile Pediatrician, at Courtney's bachelorette party! Halloween is near, so we wanted to have a little fun this week and talk about planning for a Masquerade Ball! Dressing for a masquerade is very different from the normal Halloween costume party. A masquerade is traditionally formal or semi-formal, and may have a specific theme to it.

Finding the Right Attire

If the dress code is formal, men should be in tuxedos and women are expected to wear gowns. If it is semi-formal, men can wear suits and women can wear a more casual dress, like a cocktail dress.

Choosing the exact type of dress you buy will also depend on the theme. For instance, if there is a Victorian or Shakespearian theme, your attire should reflect this. But, if it is a more general masquerade, you can choose a classic gown or cocktail dress. Below are some of our favorite dresses for a formal and semi-formal masquerade party.

Choosing your Mask

Having a masquerade mask is the other essential piece of your outfit. You can wear a small mask that only covers the eyes, or a larger one that covers your whole face. There are usually no limitations on the type of mask you can wear. You should fine a mask that is unique to you and your personality; just make sure that your mask compliments your outfit. Some masks can be very elaborate, with gems and oversized noses, while others are much more simple. Another option is to purchase a plain one and decorate it yourself.

If you don't have a masquerade to attend, but still need a Halloween costume, dressing up like a masquerade ball attendee can be fun, too! It's as simple as finding a formal dress and choosing a mask to wear with it!
