Blush Prom Dresses

With Spring and Summer here, it's officially Dress Season and we couldn't be more excited at Rissy Roo's! So, Prom and Graduation may be over, but warm weather means there's plenty of reasons to wear a dress. No matter what summer event or party you're attending, summer is a great time to wear white dresses, especially with how popular the color has become over the past couple of years.

Dress designer Blush Prom by Alexia recently released their Fall 2015 line, and many of their brand new dresses are all about the color white! So, while these dresses are technically part of their new Homecoming line, we're totally obsessing over them for summer time, too. Check out three of our favorite white Blush Prom dresses below and rock the new styles now for summer, rather than waiting for prom!

Black by Blush C319

Could there be a better combination than two-piece and white in one dress for the summer? After seeing Black by Blush C319, we're not sure there is! This chic and sleek two piece jersey knit features a tank style crop top that's encrusted with opaque color coordinating beadwork and a rouged pencil skirt accented with a belt of matching beading. Dresses like this can be extra fun because you can mix and match the skirt and top with other styles of your choosing over and over again. This two piece dress also features a cut-out open back. While it's shown in the color Off White above, this dress also comes in Black.

Black by Blush C310

Black by Blush C310 is a sleek jersey knit sheath that features a beaded high neck, eye catching keyhole back, and a finished hem trimmed with matching metallic beading. This dress is especially great for a formal event. While it's featured in Off White/Gold above, it also comes in Coral Pink/Gold - both great colors for spring, summer, or fall!

Black by Blush C320

Black by Blush C320 is all about lovely lace! It's a strapless cocktail dress with a modified sweetheart neckline constructed of thick netting and overlaid all over with gently beaded lace appliques. This is also a great dress for a formal event, but could also easily be dressed down for a night out with friends, too.

We've had so many of our Roo Girls send in picture of them in their Rissy Roo's dress at prom...and we've been so amazed at the pictures each and every time! One of the most recent pictures we received was so super...because it involved superhero Captain America! Check out Katlyn Mariah Rice below with her date, John Thomas Rayborn, both matching perfectly in blue...and John showing off his Captain America alter ego underneath his shirt!

 That's not the only reason Katlyn's and John's outfits are superhero style, though. When Katlyn's mom, Heather, shared the pictures with us, she told us that the two high schoolers attended two proms in one night! Here's what Heather said:

We can't believe that Katyln and John attended two proms in one night - they must have had such an amazing time together! Katlyn looked so stunning wearing Blush Prom style 9771. Dramatic shiny circular stones in a geometric pattern accentuate the one-shoulder and highlight the waist on this stunning prom dress. While you can't see it in Katlyn's pictures, the backstraps form a beautiful open back. The royal blue color of the dress makes for the perfect outfit for Captain America's girlfriend!

Katlyn and John's prom day was a superhero prom all around...from the Captain America shirt, to attending two proms in one night! We also thought the white roses were the perfect Captain America and girlfriend accessory. We love the trend of guys wearing superhero tee shirts under their prom suits. The 2013 Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emmys were last night, Sunday September 22nd, and they were full with so many talented actors and actresses! We were glued to the TV watching all of the awards being announced, but of course, first and foremost is the red carpet for us Roo Girls!

There were so many stunning gowns on this year's red carpet that our verdict is still out on which were our favorites. But, there was one trend that we noticed the celebrities wearing that we're already obsessing over: elegant gowns in electric blue and royal purple! So many of the ladies wore solid colored gowns in one of these bold colors. With the first day of Fall having landed yesterday, everyone must be getting in the mood for darker Fall and Winter colors! Sequins are always the go-to look for the holidays and often get put on the back burner once summer rolls around. But, with summer being the brightest time of year, is there really a better time to be wearing sparkles?? We don't think so! So, with the warm weather finally on its way, we're here to help show you how to bring sequins into your summer outfits for a whole new, unique look.

When it comes to sequins in the summertime, we recommend to keep it simple and specific to only one item within your outfit. So, if you're wearing a sequin dress, make sure your accessories don't have sequins. Or, if you accessorize with a sequin purse or shoes, keep your clothes summer casual. This is a great way to wear the trend during the summer months without going overboard. Check out our favorite ways to stylize sparkles for the summer below!

One of our favorite way to wear sequins in the summer time is with white! White is undoubtedly the go-to summer color, so it will give the sequins a super on-trend look for the season. Our favorite cocktail dress to get the look is Blush style 9667. Shiny white-gold paisleys rock in a flared skirt with a corset back in this gorgeous short dress. With the paisley white detailing, it's the perfect chic way to rock sequins in the summer.

Carrying a sequin clutch with a bright summery outfit is a great way to add a touch of glam to your look. La Regale style 21016 is a sparkly clutch that can compliment a number of different looks, from daytime to nighttime.

If you have a formal event to attend this summer and are looking for a gown, we recommend choosing one where sequins are more understated. Depending on the event, choosing a completely sequined gown may be too holiday reminiscent for the summer.  One sequined gown that we love for the summertime is La Femme style 18710. It's an empire waist chiffon gown with a criss-cross sequined patterned sweetheart neckline and small diamond shaped open back. The sequined bodice adds the perfect amount of sparkle, while the flowy chiffon fabric is perfect for summertime.

However you decide to wear sequins in the summertime, you'll sparkle as much as the sun. Most importantly, you'll show everyone that whether winter or summer, sequins are always a way to look on-trend.

While the end of the year means studying for finals and putting the last touches on getting ready for prom, it also means that it's time for Graduation! Whether you're graduating from high school or college, it means that it's the celebration of the end of one stage of your life, and the soon to be new beginning of your next stage. So, while it may feel stressful right now, there will be plenty of parties to attend and plenty of fun to be had.

What to wear on graduation day may not be first on your mind right now, but it's definitely an important thing to think about. Just like prom, it's a day that you'll never forget, and a day that many pictures will be taken! So, even though you'll be wearing a graduation gown for the ceremony, you'll definitely want to make sure you have a cute dress underneath. This way, when it's time to take off the cap and gown, you'll be ready for all the pictures (and the parties, of course)!

Prom night is fast approaching. Ladies Beware!

Prom girls, be smart. Your dream dress could be a fake! The prom industry’s leading designers are still fighting the ongoing battle with fraudulent internet sites selling counterfeit prom dresses to unsuspecting teenage girls and their families. Companies are representing these dresses as authentic garments, but what the customer is receiving is a knock-off of sub-par quality, leaving them feeling scammed and distraught.  Some are not receiving any dress at all!

Protect yourself. Before purchasing a prom dress via the internet, check the designer’s website for a list of authorized retailers. Also, be aware that designers such as Jovani, La Femme, Mori Lee, Sherri Hill and Tony Bowls set an MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) that all authorized retailers must follow. Meaning, that if you are able to find the dress at a price lower than the MSRP, chances are it’s a scam. Do not buy it! Forget the showers, bring on the May flowers!  And lucky for us, just in time for Prom 2011! Prom is in full bloom and we know it's a constant now a days to look fresh!
