Celebrity Inspired Dresses

The 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards have come and gone, but we're still obsessing over all the gorgeous Hollywood ladies' red carpet looks! It was a difficult choice because all the celebrities looked amazing, but we could only choose one favorite look, and we're giving it to Nicole Kidman! Navy blue was a popular color at the SAG Awards this year (both Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried wore the color, too), but we fell in love with Nicole's stunning sequined number.

That's why for this week's Dress of the Week, we chose Shail K style SK3192L. It's a full length, silk, hand-sequined dress that shines a unique shade of sparkling navy, and elegantly drapes to the floor with a small train to give you that true diva look! We especially love the daring v-neck and bold open back on the dress.

A lot more pictures have surfaced of Ashley Benson rocking Faviana dresses ever since it was announced that the Pretty Little Liars star is the new face of the dress designer company, and she looks beautiful in every single one of them! We're most excited about the Behind-The-Scene video that Faviana released, though. It's a cute video that shows Ashley wearing all of the different Faviana dresses from the photo shoot - check it out below!

Michelle Obama looked absolutely stunning in red on Monday night as her husband was once again inaugurated as the President of the United States of America! The first lady wore a flowy chiffon red gown by Jason Wu. We loved that she wore a warm color in winter - it was making us excited that Spring and Summer are just around the corner! The best part about the dress, though, was that it was so flattering to her arms, the First Lady's most well known feature.

Red in any dress is definitely a great way to stand out, and works well with many different skin tones. All of the stars were out last night on Jan. 9th for the 2013 People’s Choice Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and we loved seeing them arrive on the red carpet! While everyone at Rissy Roo's unanimously agreed that Ian Somerhalder was our fave celebrity that walked the red carpet, we were of course also amazed at how beautiful all the ladies looked! Even though New Year's Eve has come and gone, we're still obsessing (just a little bit) over all of the sparkly outfits! Seventeen Magazine put together a great collection of what some of the celebrities were wearing when the ball dropped. The styles were all so perfect for NYE, but some of the celebs were even rocking new Prom 2013 trends! So, if you're looking for some ideas for your prom dress, these celeb NYE outfits are definitely a great place to start.

Carly Rae Jepsen performed in Times Square on NYE in a fashionable long, red maxi skirt and black crop top. Her show was so great! After the performance, she revealed on Twitter:

"@carlyraejepsen: Had a blast performing in Times Square! Nobody knew i had long johns under my skirt...till now;) #RockinNewYearsEve"

Pretty silly that she was wearing long johns, but a very good idea - it was very cold that night!

The 2 piece dress outfit is definitely going to be one of the popular trends for Prom this year, so we loved that Carly Rae was already rocking the look! Dress designers Jovani, Xtreme, Dave & Johnny, and Sherri Hill have all included sexy 2-piece numbers in their Prom 2013 collections, with both short and long skirts. If you want to get a similar look to Carly Rae, we love Jovani style 5336 because of the long, tulle skirt.

Ashley Tisdale was hanging out with her girlfriends Shelley Buckner and Kim Hidalgo on NYE. Ashley rocked the same sexy little black dress that she wore to the Breaking Dawn Pt 2 premiere in Los Angeles. We thought it was so awesome that she was wearing the dress again - it definitely couldn't have been any more perfect for New Year's Eve because of all of the sequins!

We especially loved her friend's pink baby doll dress, though! It kept within the NYE spirit because of the sequins, but was definitely a unique dress to wear because it was pink! We love Jovani style 612 for a similar style - a great dress to wear for either prom or homecoming.

Kim Kardashian is of course always rocking sexy outfits, and NYE is no exception! Her sheer and lace dress hugged her curves (...and her baby bump!...the newest Kardashian news from Kanye West!) so well. The long sleeves and length of the skirt is a great compliment to the revealing lace - sometimes it's all about finding balance in your sexy outfit! Jovani style 9448 is a great example of that - the long sleeves keep the dress from being too revealing.

What a cute pic of Sarah Hyland sharing a midnight kiss with her boyfriend Matt Prokop! As if the kiss wasn't enough to make this pic perfect, we love Sarah's outfit - a burgundy dress and glittery heels! Burgundy has been such a popular color in the Fall and Winter months, that her style couldn't be more on-point. Nicki Minaj looked as sexy as ever on New Year's Eve in her shiny gold bandage dress and shoes. Seventeen Mag wrote, "this metallic, monochromatic look would be totally stunning for prom." We couldn't agree more!

The new year is finally here, and while that means looking ahead at what's to come, it also means reflecting on the year that's past. Of course, with our love for fashion, we've been looking back at some of the best dressed celebrities of 2012! We loved Lucky Magazine's list of their 25 best dressed stars because they included our favorite 4 in their picks. Check out our best dressed celebrities below and how you can get their look for your next formal event!

Jennifer Lawrence rocked some very fashionable outfits througout her Hunger Games promo tour - they even earned her a gig as the next face of the Miss Dior handbag! Our favorite dress was the one she wore to the Hollywood premiere - a Prabal Gurung gold cut-out gown. The gown reminded us of the shiny outfits the contestants wore during the Opening Ceremonies of the Hunger Games. If you want to be the star of your prom, check out Faviana style 7182 - a foil jersey mermaid style evening gown with mesh cut-out details.

Taylor Swift had a great year of fashion, from her casual looks, to being on the cover of Glamour, to dressing up in sparkly gowns at award shows. Lucky Magazine says that Jessica tends to wear "feminine A-line silhouettes, well-placed sequins, and lovely lace." We definitely see all of that in our favorite champagne colored dress that she wore! The 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which aired this past Tuesday (Nov. 4th)  was as amazing as ever! The performances by Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Justin Bieber were absolutely incredible - you could tell the whole place was full of Bieber Fever!

While we couldn't take our eyes off of Biebs, we were amazed by Rihanna's performance and outfits. We especially loved her Audrey Hepburn inspired black gown with pearl glasses and necklace and lace gloves. That's why we picked Faviana Style 6428 as this week's Dress of the Week. We love the classic black gown, of course with a little sexiness added in with a slit down the side and a sweetheart neckline!

This strapless evening gown has tightly ruched fabric across the bust and bodice. You definitely can never go wrong with the classic Audrey Hepburn look, whether it's on the runway or at prom.

Taylor Swift showed off her always on-point fashion sense as the Cover Girl of the November 2012 issue of Glamour. Even though the December issue is out now, we're still stuck on Taylor's looks; we loved her curly, golden locks and bold, red lips so much, and of course, the outfits were stunning, too!
