Mac Duggal

The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival was held at the end of May, and there were so many stunning looks all throughout the festival! One of our favorite looks was worn by DJ and model Joy Vieli. She wore one of our favorite designers, Mac Duggal, at several events at the festival, so we were of course very amazed by her outfit choices! Some of the events Joy attended included director Sofia Coppola's exclusive yacht party, as well as an after party at VIP ROOM Famous Club. She was definitely both dressed up in style AND partying in style!

Our favorite look that she wore during the festival was Mac Duggal style 78703R, which is the gown she's wearing in the above picture. It's such an elegant gown, but we loved how she gave it her own edgy touch with hairstyle and bold lipstick (and of course, her fierce model stance!). Mac Duggal 78703R has sensational beaded floral designs that fill the center front of this spectacular floor length evening gown, giving it such a unique look. All eyes were definitely on Joy in this gown with a thigh high slit and sheer one shoulder design!

 It's a great dress for prom or any other formal event. Black goes with anything and everything, after all!

The 2013 Prom Season is finally coming to an end, and our Roo Girls have picked out some very pretty dresses this year! There have been many popular dress for Prom 2013, but there's three that stood out above and beyond as our Roo customer's favorite dresses. Precious Formals P8819 in Mint was very in demand this season! The beautiful color and sequin pattern had everyone wanting it! Mint was a big color choice in general this prom season, but Precious Formals P8819 proved to be the go-to mint dress to show off the on-trend style.

Mac Duggal 50007A in Neon Coral was another dress that caught every prom girl's eye. The bold color and rhinestone detailing ensured that you would stand out at any event that you attended. The annual Met Gala was held in New York City on Monday night, April 6th, with this year highlighting the Metropolitan Museum of Art's spring collection, "PUNK: Chaos to Couture." We were so amazed by how many celebrities got into the theme!

It was hard to pick, but two of our favorite looks of the night were worn by Nina Dobrev and Kristen Stewart. We ultimately settled on these two celebs because we loved that they both rocked jumpsuits - it must be a vampire thing! Check out what they wore below and how you can get similar looks for your next formal event. If you want a stand-out look for prom, these rompers are certainly a perfect option!

Nina Dobrev

Nina looked all vamped out in her black lace jumpsuit! We loved how the feminine detailing of the lace and tulle overskirt was offset by the black leather harness - so punk! The Vampire Diaries star looked extra fierce with her dramatic eyeliner and mohawk-inspired hairdo. We're so used to her cute, girly look on The Vampire Diaries (except when she's playing Katherine, of course!), that we were amazed by her high-fashion, dark look.

 One of our jumpsuits for this year, Claudine for Alyce style 2232, immediately reminded us of Nina's look! Just like Nina's jumpsuit, it features beautiful lace and sheer for a chic look, a sweetheart neckline, and a long tulle overskirt. Continue reading →

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards aired last night (Mon, 4/15) and they were so much fun! Rebel Wilson's jokes were hilarious, as usual, and the live performances by Selena Gomez and Macklemore were full of energy. It's no doubt, though, that our eyes were glued to the red carpet. All of the ladies looked so amazing, but there were two celebs that we particularly loved: Crystal Reed and Greer Grammer! Their looks were so perfect not only for the red carpet, but to rock at prom, as well! Check out below what they wore and how you can get their looks for prom.

Even though pastels are so in lately, neon has been holding strong for a while now and it certainly doesn't plan on going anywhere any time soon. As soon as the warmer weather starts rolling in, we can't help but want to put more colors on...and the brighter, the better!

Prom is certainly the best time to show off your individuality, but it can still be hard to stand out in the crowd with all of the beautiful dresses that the other girls will be wearing. Neon is a great way to be the star of prom, and show off  how on-trend you are at the same time! We're so happy and proud that our very own Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, was crowned Miss Universe 2012 this past Wednesday (Dec 19th)! She looked so incredibly beautiful, and we can't believe that the USA finally has the crown again after 15 years! Olivia beat out 88 competitors to take the crown!

Olivia is 20 years old and is currently a sophmore at Boston University. It's so impressive that she's juggling college while competing in such difficult pageants - really shows you what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it!

During the preliminaries, when Olivia was named one of the final 16 contestants, she donned a purple Sherri Hill  bandage mini-dress (style 2932). During the final competition night on Wednesday, Olivia wore a tight navy blue mini-dress with a sequin bodice on stage for the event's opening number. For the swimsuit portion of the competition, she wore a purple and blue bikini. At the end of the event, she looked gorgeous in a wintery red velvet gown with a plunging neckline.

There were also so many other beautiful ladies and dresses at the event - it must of been hard to be a judge and pick the winner! A lot of the women were wearing some of our favorite dress designers - Sherri Hill, Mac Duggal, and Tony Bowls! Check out some of the dresses below.

The holidays are coming up and that means there will be lots parties. Not all the parties will be close to home, though; some may involve traveling (a New Year's Eve trip to NYC, perhaps??). Keira Knightley's newest film, 'Anna Karenina' had its New York premiere at Florence Gould Hall earlier this month (on Nov. 7th). The British actress wore a stunning navy blue long-sleeve lace evening gown on the red carpet.

We loved her classy look with the lace dress and how she kept it simple by wearing a tight bun and only earrings for jewelry. The red lipstick was the perfect touch against the navy gown.

 As we've mentioned in past posts, lace is a very popular trend right now (Kristen Stewart wore lace at the Los Angeles Breaking Dawn 2 premiere). If you'd love to rock a long sleeve lace evening gown just like Keira for your next formal event, the below dresses are great options!

A. Mac Duggal 78704R - A black lace one-shoulder evening gown. The dress features delicate lace and bead designers that travel from the hip to the wrist of the single sheer sleeve. A thigh high slit adds excitement but does not take away from the classy look of the dress.

B. Mac Duggal 85007R - Keep it classic in this A-line style evening dress featuring a voluminous skirt that hits just above the ankle. The film 'Anna Karenina' also stars Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. It is set in late 19th Century Russia high-society and is about Anna, who is an aristocrat that enters into a life-changing affair with Count Vronsky (Jude Law). The story is adapted from Leo Tolstoy's novel of the same name.
